Support for War-Torn Ukraine – A Commitment of the Lithuanian Customs

On the eve of the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Deputy Director General of the Customs Department, acting as Director General, Vygantas Paigozinas, Deputy Director General Dovilė Kraulaidienė, and Lithuanian Customs Attaché in Ukraine Valdas Dovydėnas met with fighters from the Kherson region.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Tiahynka Military Administration of Kherson District, Mykola Yatsenko, the Head of the Dariivka Military Administration, Anatolii Didur, other members of the delegation, as well as the Director of the public institution “Memorabilis”, Milda Goštautaitė, and the Director of “EU4Kherson”, Roman Berezhnyi.

Between 2023 and 2025, Lithuanian Customs transferred nearly 100 vehicles and consumer goods worth almost EUR 350,000 to the Kherson region. Since the beginning of the war, a total of 430 vehicles and support worth nearly EUR 2,250,000 have been provided to Ukraine.

The guests from Kherson sincerely expressed their gratitude for the continuous support. According to them, vehicles are particularly essential – under wartime conditions, some may be used for only a day or a few weeks, making constant replenishment necessary. The vehicles are used both for military purposes and for civilians’ daily needs: transporting food supplies, schoolchildren and adults, as well as various types of military ammunition.

Ukrainians who worked in various sectors before the war and are now defending their country emphasized that Lithuania’s assistance is of immense importance to them. Household items provided often become an important part of daily operations and even of military infrastructure.

The leadership of Lithuanian Customs confirmed that comprehensive support for war-torn Ukraine will continue tirelessly in the future.

Слава Україні! 🇺🇦
